A Prospectus for the Sale of Nothing
We have prepared, at considerable expense, a great deal of nothing. What follows is its formal offering.
I
The Offering
LeerHaus deals exclusively in the unnecessary. Each object is finished with the care its emptiness deserves, packaged as though it mattered, and dispatched — really dispatched — to those who have, at last, run out of things to want. We sell nothing. We are told we sell it rather well.
II
The Provenance
Our nothing is sourced responsibly and without haste. The silence is premium. The ice arrives pre-melted, sparing you the wait. The air is Oxfordshire’s own, bottled at ambient. Nothing is imported that could, with a little patience, be found absent at home.
III
The Terms
Every piece is complete as supplied. It asks for nothing further and, in most cases, contains precisely that. Prices reflect the effort of restraint rather than the cost of materials, of which there are pleasingly few. Quantities, where offered, scale gently with your resolve.
IV
The Assurance
Should your nothing arrive as something, we will exchange it without question. Should it arrive as nothing, it has arrived as intended. Either way you have our word — which is itself, in the LeerHaus tradition, a considered kind of nothing.
V
The Invitation
You are warmly invited to acquire rather less than you already have. The Collection awaits, arranged with all the seriousness the subject demands.
“We remain, as ever, at your disposal — and largely unoccupied.”
