A smooth stone that has already done the worrying on your behalf.
Each stone is worried in advance by hand, over a period we decline to specify, until every conceivable concern has been attended to and worn smooth. What reaches you is the settled remainder: an object that has been through it, so that you need not.
Hold it, and feel that nothing further is required. Should new worries arise, they are, regrettably, your own — the stone’s work was completed some time ago.
